Fun Things to do Around Town For The Holidays

It’s time to plan your holiday calendar.  There are so many fun activities scheduled around Dallas and the surrounding suburbs of  Plano, Frisco and McKinney.  We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorites.




Light The Night at Watters Creek

Saturday, November 18th / 4:30-6:30pm

Shops at Watters Creek 970 Garden Park Dr Allen, TX75013 Get in the holiday spirit with caroling, complimentary carriage rides, holiday craft activities, and festive entertainment.  The fun begins at 4:30 pm throughout the center, then head to the Village Green at 6:15 pm to be dazzled when the tree is lit with a glittery display of 145,000 lights synchronized to music – all topped off with a fireworks display.

The Lights at Legacy

November 19, 2017 / 4:00 – 7:00pm Shops At Legacy 5741 Legacy Drive Plano, TX 75024 The Shops at Legacy flips the official switch Sunday, November 19th, with Lights at Legacy, Plano’s premier event heralding holiday magic. The Lights at Legacy begins at 4:00 pm, but get there early. Exclusive swag bags will be available to the first 200 guests who visit The Shops at Legacy booth, located in front of Mi Cocina.  The holiday season officially starts with the lighting of the new LegacyTexas Christmas Tree at 6:30 p.m.

Christmas in The Square

November 24 – December 31/ 6:00 – 10:00 pm Daily Frisco Square 8874 Coleman Blvd. Frisco, TX 75034 Visitors may tune in to a local radio station in their vehicles, or listen to the music piped through speakers as they take a walk through the Square. The light and music extravaganza is choreographed by Frisco’s own Jeff Trykoski (Illumimax, LLC). With over 175,000 lights, 11.5 miles of wiring and 8 miles of extension cords, Christmas in the Square is unlike anything you have ever seen.

Home for the Holidays

November 24,2017/ 6:15 pm McKinney Main Street 111 N. Tennessee St. McKinney, TX 75069 Watch faces light up at 6:15 p.m. when the city lights a 34-foot Blue Spruce Christmas tree that will adorn the city’s square. Visit the 14-block area of McKinney’s 165-year-old commercial historic downtown for family activities, food and entertainment. Enjoy a uniquely McKinney Christmas celebration with neighbors and visitors from near and far. It’s an unforgettable experience and a great start to the holiday season.  



The Jingle Bell Run

December 21, 2017 / 7:00 pm start time / Entry Fee Required Hilton Anatole Hotel 22o1 N. Stemmons Fwy Dallas Tx 75207 The Generational Group Dallas Jingle Bell Run has been a Dallas tradition for over 20 years. This is a festive family-friendly event with a nighttime 5k race, 1-mile fun run, and a lively post-race party. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in their spirited holiday attire and will also be given a pair of jingle bells and glow sticks to “jingle all the way” through the race. There are carolers and music along the race course to ensure every step of the race is enjoyable. The event is held at the Hilton Anatole during their Christmas at the Anatole celebration, providing an extra festive backdrop. This year’s post-race party will be at the hotel, in the Chantilly Ballroom room, with a live performance by The Spazmatics, an appearance by the Mavs Maniacs, photo opportunities with the Dallas Mavericks Dancers and complimentary (adult and kid-friendly) beverages & snacks! The event is 100% dog-friendly!  All proceeds from the Generational Group Jingle Bell Run benefit the Trinity Strand Trail and the Mavs Foundation.
